utopian vs distopian
Hello beatty here and I just want to say that a dystopia is a the thing that would be better because im always either anoyed or in a bad mood and I dont care really what happens to other people I just follow the rules that the goverment make.
Garrett here I think that a utopia is a better place because erverone gets along my utiopia would focased around sports mostly because i'm a big sports fan also its better because the goverment would not have all the power but be shared like it is today thats what I think would be the best.

Utopian vs. Dystopian
Mildred's vision of a utopia is of the world
she presently lives in. She is perfectly fine to live without books, only
visiting friends to do the same thing she does at home, which is watch
television. When confronted by change, she becomes frightened. For example,
when Montag shows Mildred all of the books he has stole, she becomes almost horrified
of them. "Mildred backed away as if she were suddenly was confronted by a
pack of mice that had come up out of the floor. He could hear her breathing
rapidly and her face was paled out and her eyes were fastened wide. She said
his name over, twice, three times. Then, moaning, she ran forward, seized a
book, and ran toward the kitchen incinerator." What we can see from this
is that Mildred is perfectly content living the life that she is, and doesn't
want it to change at all costs. In my own opinion, a utopian society wouldn't
necessarily be one where everyone was happy. It would be just and fair, but
also show mercy to those who deserve it. It would not be close to Mildred’s utopia.
Utopian vs. Dystopian
Clarisse's view on a Utopian society would be where people were able to read books and everyone was able to do what they'd like to do. "I like to smell things, and sometimes stay up all night, walking, and watch the sun rise." (Bradbury, 11). My View on a Utopian society would be some what like Clarisse's view where everyone able to read books and everyone was happy with one another and treated equally.
Montag's Utopia
Montag's Utopia would be: People could read books and gain knowledge. People would not have walls that talk to them. People would have deep conversations. No one would judge what you do. Kids would go to school to learn.

If you really knew me
Bradbury uses various literary devices to show Mildred as a apparent person, wanting only to spend time with her parlor families. When Bradbury writes "Her face was like a snow covered island" (17). He uses this simile to show how cold she is towards reality and Montag. Also how detached she is from the real world while she submerges herself into her parlor family. She behaves just like she has no connection with the real life and she uses all the televisions and her seashells as tools to make herself away from the world.

If You Really Knew Me
Bradbury uses a literary devices, simile, when Montag is thinking about how he saw himself in Clarisse's eyes. "–Suspended in two shining drops of bright water, himself dark and tiny, in fine detail, the lines about his mouth, everything there, as if her eyes were two miraculous bits of violet amber that might capture and hold him intact." We should understand that Clarisse can really persuade a person.

If you really knew me
"Montag was in the dark street again, looking at the world." (Bradbury 94) This shows a Metaphor. Montag isn't really looking at the whole entire world. He is just looking at the stuff around him. This showed that Montag doesn't really know what to do.
"His fingers were like ferrets that had done some evil and now never rested, always stirred and picked and hid in pockets, moving under Beatty's alcohol-flame stare." (Bradbury 107) This is showing a simile. Montag feels like he has done wrong. Bradbury is trying to explain how Montag feels at this moment.

Meet my character
Dear Diary
I have been watching a lot of television lately. It is like my life. I am proud and satisfied with my life. I don't work but my husband Guy Montag does. He is a fireman! Apparently he found me passed out on the ground. People say I tired to commit suicide but I ended up being okay when my stomach was pumped and my blood re-circulated. I don't remember any of it though! Maybe I will remember sometime soon. I probably won't though because my memory is so bad. Did I mention how much I like television?

Can you Believe what happened?
Dear Montag,
I'm sorry that I got mad at you but I told you that bringing books into this house would be horrible for us. I would have let you do it a little longer but you read it right in front of Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Bowles and I couldn't just stand by and let you do that. All I wanted to have was a nice, peaceful family but you got out books and read poetry to my friends! Why can't we just have a normal life with no books? Im concerned.

Can you believe what happened?
Dear Montag,
I can't believe you're actually trying to read books now. When we first met you said you had never read a book in your life and never would because you are a fireman. What happened to that Mr. "Fireman,"? I thought you guys would burn all books you came across. You still have a book at your house, are you trying to get yourself in tons of trouble by your boss...Captain Beatty? I can just tell how this is going to end terribly. You and Professor Faber are going to get caught in the middle of your plan. Your plan to put books in all the Fireman's homes without getting caught? Good luck... just do not get caught because if your in jail I will definitely miss my neighbor and I know Mildred will miss having you around too.
Sincerely,
Clarisse McClellan

Letter
Dear Clarisse,
I saw something terrible happen tonight. I hate being a fire fighter now. I just want to quit. I feel like I don't do good whenever I burn things down. But, tonight I didn't burn anything.
We got this call about a lady on Elm Street. I thought it was just a normal call but it wasn't. This lady wouldn't leave. We told her she had to and even tried to force her out but before we could she lit the match herself. She burned all of her books, her house, and even herself. Why would she do that. Why would she die for her books?

Dear Millie 11/4/2056
Can you belive that your hsband has books on him you better tell him that if he does not burn the book then your house goes bye bye so you better get on to him. Here i'll give you some tips so get rid of his books. First start crying and tell him he better burn the books or your out. Second burn the books while he is sleeping. Three knock him out good with something strong and then start burning away. If this fails then I dont know what to tell you

Meet My Character
Dear Diary,
Just moved in next door to this very nice man. His name is Montag. I asked him if he was a fireman and he was, how cool! Not to mention how cool his uniform looked. I still don't understand why these fireman start fires. I thought they were supposed to extinguish fires, but they do the complete opposite. Anyhow, I still believe his uniform was very interesting. It had a salamander on it, a fire phoenix, and a number on his helmet I didn't quite know the reasoning of the number, but I still thought those uniforms were the coolest thing. Montag was telling me about how he had to burn this old woman's house down because she had a collection of books. I still don't entirely understand why they burn books. Nether the less I am just going to go look around this new town, I'm curious to see what else there is that is fascinating.
Sincerely,
Clarisse McClellan

Meet My Character
Dear Diary,
I am married to a woman named Mildred. I burn books, houses, and even people for a living. I hate being a fire fighter. I want to quit but I don't know how. I do not like the world we live in. I feel like something needs to change. I want to read books and see what they are like. I've hid some books behind my vent. I met this young girl who moved in next door named Clarisse. She was very different from others. She would actually have a conversion with you and she cared about people other than herself. She was killed though. I want more people to be like her. I went to this house today and the lady inside had books. This lady was different though, she lit the match and burnt herself and her house down. I didn't know what to do after that I was so upset. Some thing needs to change in this world.
Sincerely,
Guy Montag

Test
I expect people are going to share information about the book. I think this is about to be really confusing.
